An Important Message to All Doceo Customers

This Concerns the Scan-to-Email Function of your Copier

Email Security continues to be a challenge that every organization faces, and as it has represented one of the most frequently breached aspects of any organization’s network. The various technology vendors providing email solutions, such as Microsoft and Google, have adapted as cybersecurity threats have increased, but not without complicating some processes that have traditionally relied on their email transport (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol – SMTP) services.

In particular, Google has made it increasingly difficult to use a @Gmail.com and Google Workspace accounts for Scan-to-Email purposes. This affects many Doceo customers and has impacted the workload of Doceo’s Copier Service Team. Mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication for Google email services will become Mandatory on May 31, 2022, which will impact everyone using Google email accounts for scanning to email. This is outside the control of Doceo.

To address this issue moving forward, Doceo is taking the following steps:

  1. If you are experiencing challenges with scan-to-email, please be sure to reach out to our Copier/ MFP Help Desk for support at 888-757-6629. Issues can be corrected remotely in most cases.
  2. If you use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, please have the administrative login ready, or coordinate with your IT support to work with our MFP Support team.
  3. If you do not use a business-grade cloud email service (personal Gmail accounts are no longer acceptable), let us know and we can supply an alternative solution.
  4. We recommend that you reach out to schedule an appointment with Customer Care to resolve this issue.
