We highly recommend a software solution, called PaperCut MF, to all of our multifunction printer customers. PaperCut software manages your printing, copying, scanning and faxing control seamlessly with any brand of machine.

PaperCut offers organizations a powerful tool for managing their fleet of printers and MFPs, and can be deployed regardless of the brand composition of the existing print hardware. It is also capable of running on just about any IT platform currently in use (Windows, Apple, Novell, Linux).

Cost savings are provided in a number of ways. Through the implementation of printing rules, PaperCut can enforce fiscal policy by requiring duplex printing, restricting access color, enforcing quotas, or directing large jobs to appropriate equipment. PaperCut also provides ‘Find Me’ printing, which requires the user to release their print jobs – often eliminating the prints that end up in the recycle bin at the end of the day.

Accountability is provided through the requirement for user authentication in order to print. PaperCut user accounts are synchronized with the user directory, such as Windows Active Directory, already being managed by organizational IT staff. Authentication may be required for any combination of print, copy, scan and fax.

Security is provided through a combination of the authentication features listed above, and additional features such as Watermarking of prints and Print Archiving, providing administrators the ability to review any suspicious print activity.

PaperCut also provides Accessibility benefits that are key in the current office environments, such as support for Mobile & Driver-less Printing, Web Client printing, and Find Me printing. These features demplify printing support for students using iPads or Chromebooks.
